About the Artist – Janet Belk

Manchester based artist, Janet Belk, was born in the Lake District and her work combines influences from both urban and natural environments.

Formally educated in art to A-level, she chose a different career path, studying Marketing Management at the University of Salford.

However, creating and exhibiting art remains a lifelong passion, as she continues to develop her personal style.

Working mainly in oils and acrylics, she is interested in the relationship between colour, light, texture and movement, as well as the emotional responses her often abstract pieces evoke.
